As a painter, he won the best poster prize for the road safety when he was 14
years old. The authorities concerned remade his work and published it.
He looked at the copy and frowned. "Gee, my original was much better."
From his childhood, he used to paint in watercolors. He began to paint in
oils at age of 18 years old. And he started to paint in pastel when he was 25.
He enjoys the vague feeling of patel. He painted illustratinos for some books.
Progressed from Japanese black and white style, his pastel touch is really original.
His world of poesy in drawings is original too.

絵画方面では、彼が14歳のときに描いたポスターが、交通安全ポスターコンクールにおいて
最優秀賞に選ばれ、印刷されて街角に貼られたが、それは公安当局によってリメイクされたもので、
構図や標語はオリジナルと同じだったが、色彩や細かな部分のデザインが少しずつ変更されていた。
彼は印刷物をながめ「元のほうがずっとよかった」と評した。
幼少時から水彩絵の具で描いていたが、18歳のときに油彩をはじめ、25歳のころから、パステルで描く
ようになった。パステルのぼんやりしたタッチを好む彼は、書籍や雑誌向けの挿絵も描いている。
著書に『ポエジー劇場 子犬のころ』ほかの「ポエジー劇場シリーズ」、
『1月生まれについて』〜『12月生まれについて』の「誕生月シリーズ」がある。
Opinion in these days
If there are some meanings in our lives, you might live for your soul's adventure.
I think like this lately.
Your soul appeared in this age, at your place, on this planet, with your body,
to experience the things that your soul have never met.
I think that's why we were born.
From this point of view, if your life is meaningless by living without fresh
experience, you might be reborn as a weed or a microbe in your next life.
Don't you feel joyful to think like this?
近ごろの料簡
もしも人生に意味があるとすれば、人生は、魂が冒険する場なのではないか、と、このと
ころ考えています。
あなたの魂が、この時代の、この場所に、このからだをまとって現れたのは、この環境で、
あなたがいろいろなことを体験し、いろいろなことを感じ、考え、楽しむためなのではな
いか、と思うわけです。
つらいできごとや、苦い経験もあるだろうし、うまくいかないこと、あるいは、まったく
やる気のないときさえあるでしょうが、そういうすべての時間をひっくるめて、とにかく
いままで体験したことのないもろもろを、すすんで体験し、かみしめ、楽しんでしまう、
と、そういう態度が人生を意味あるものにするのだと思うのです。
だから、何も考えたくない、ただ無難に、不安なく生きたい、苦労したくない、とにかく
逃げきれればいい、暮らし慣れた日常の繰り返しに終始したい、そういう態度で人生をまっ
とうした人がもしもいたとしたら、そういう人は人生を生きた意味がなかったことになる
ので、輪廻したとしても、その魂はふりだしからもう一度同じ人生をやり直すか、あるい
は人として生きても意味がないから、つぎに生まれかわるときは、草とか微生物とか、そ
ういうものに生まれかわるのではないかしら。
